Under the direction of the Infrastructure Manager, support the Company's physical infrastructure, server applications and databases.
Essential Job Functions:
Monitor systems to ensure proper performance, efficiency and stability.
Troubleshoot and repair issues, review and respond to alerts.
Install and configure software and hardware.
Perform updates and regular maintenance on servers, databases and applications.
Perform backup and recovery of data, applications, systems and ensure its accuracy.
Document systems, applications, inventory, licenses, and procedures.
Provide technical support to System Administrator team.
Assist in the development of IT controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures.
Backup others on the Systems and Network teams as needed.
Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
Identify and recommend efficiency improvements.
Operate as a team player and help to unify the team.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or its equivalent. Professional certification in MCSA a plus.
5+ year experience with Windows System Administration.
Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms (Microsoft, Linux)
Strong knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl or other language
Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
Operate within the corporate policy guidelines and business practices.
Results oriented and demonstrated strong sense of urgency.
Excellent communication skills, written/verbal with internal and external contacts.
Proven ability to be organized, detailed, multi-tasker, critical thinker, accurate, thorough and a problem-solver.
Ability to adapt to change in the workplace or assignment of duties.
This job generally operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
